Cleveland Cavaliers win NBA Draft Lottery
The Cleveland Cavaliers won the NBA Draft Lottery on Tuesday night, securing the number one overall pick for the fifth time in franchise history, and second in three years.
The Cavaliers, who had a 15.6 percent chance of winning the number one pick, beat out the Orland Magic who were the favorites at 25 percent. The Cavaliers will now have their pick of the litter in next month’s draft, with Kentucky C Nerlens Noel the likely selection. The Cavaliers selected All-Star point guard Kyrie Irving with the number one pick in 2011, and with young players like Dion Waiters and Tristan Thompson already on the roster, the Cavaliers have the makings of a strong, young foundation to build on.
And, with another number one pick now in their pockets, Cleveland may have increased their appeal to LeBron James when he becomes a free agent next summer.
