Synopsis for ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’ released
Ever since it was announced at Comic-Con back in 2013 that Batman and Superman would be squaring off in the followup to Man of Steel, speculation has run rampant as to what the actual synopsis for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice would be.
We’ve known for some time now that the film will be heavily influenced by Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, which as Ben Affleck once said is the seminal work when it comes to Batman. But even after we got our first official look at the trailer back in April we still didn’t know what the story was going to be.
Today, we may finally have the answer. Collider has just released what they claim is the official synopsis for Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Check it out below.
Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day savior, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.
Sounds pretty intense, and in-line with what many of us have assumed. The interesting part is the final sentence, which seems to indicate that Doomsday (the rumored baddie for the Justice League team) will make an appearance and act as the main antagonist for Justice League.
What do you think of the synopsis, and are you excited about the potential prospect of seeing Doomsday appear on the big screen?
Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice opens March 25, 2016.
