Mike D’Antoni resigns as coach of the New York Knicks
With the dawn of the Jeremy Lin Dynasty comes the end of the Mike D’Antoni era in New York. D’Antoni resigned as coach of the New York Knicks on Wednesday amidst a six-game losing streak. The Knicks were the toast of the NBA just over a month ago, when Jeremy Lin emerged to lead the team to an 8-1 record during a nine-game stretch while Carmelo Anthony sat out with an injury. Once Anthony returned, however, the Knicks began struggling and D’Antoni seems to be taking the fall for it. While I do believe D’Antoni was the wrong fit for the Knicks, I think New York has to reevaluate whether Carmelo Anthony is a long-term solution for their franchise.
