Miami Dolphins unveil new logo
The Miami Dolphins have been big spenders this offseason in acquiring players like WR Mike Wallace, TE Dustin Keller, and WR Brandon Gibson, but now we know where some of that other money has been spent: marketing.
The Dolphins unveiled their new, revamped logo yesterday, and while photos of the new logo leaked online weeks ago, yesterday was our first confirmation that a change is in fact coming. The logo is supposed to be the first part of a re-branding process for the Dolphins, which will likely include new look jerseys and more. The new Dolphin is supposed to pay homage to the past, according to Dolphins CEO Mike Dee who said:
There’s a lot of history in this in that we went back to colors, the true aqua and the true orange that were part of the first 29 years of the franchise’s history…But the logo design itself and some other things you’ll see respect that tradition in the past but also have an eye on the 21st century Dolphins.
With a young quarterback in Ryan Tannehill and a slew of talent surrounding him, the Dolphins future looks bright. There’s only one question that needs to be asked about this new logo, though: how does Ray Finkle feel?
